NuTech Renewables ltd specialise in the design, supply and installation of PV panels (solar electric/ photovoltaic systems) which convert the suns energy direct into electricity for your home.
What is PV?
Photovoltaic (Pv for short) literally means turning "photons" of light into "volts" of electrictity. Pv panels contain semi-conductors such as silicon, which convert solar radition into electricity.
The electricity produced can be used to run appliances and lighting and can be fed into the national grid.
Why Solar Electricity?
• can help new-build customers achieve up to 5 years 100% rate relief
• can offset 100% of a households electric demand and more
• can provide an ongoing income for exported electricity
• can provide a income for ALL electricity generated via Renewables Obligation Cert.’s (ROC
Renewables Obligation Certificates
The government will supply generators of accredited renewable electricity one Northern Ireland Renewables Obligation Certificate (NIROC) for every 1000kWh of generation.
Ofgem are responsible for the process of accrediting and issuing NIROCs to generators throughout the UK.
For Solar PV, up to 50kW, the government will provide NIROC’s worth 16.9p per kWh
After the installation, NIE will provide the householder with an import/export meter; this reading is taken each month or year by the householder and submitted to Ofgem. Based on the reading, Ofgem will issue NIROC’s, these are then transferred to NIE Energy, and payment is made via bank transfer in mid-July each year. The ROC payment will be made until 31 March 2037.
Export payments
For electricity not used by the household, can be exported to the national grid; currently NIE pay 5.22p per kWh for this exported energy. This export payment is made in addition to ROC payments.
Grants
NIE Energy is currently offering a grant of £1,000 per kWp or 20% of the relevant eligible costs, whichever is the lesser amount, to a maximum of £5,000.
