Irish banks have included provisions for the support of green economy related enterprises, for example, Bank of Ireland has made €100m available to renewable energy projects and the green SME sector.

Bank of Ireland - Green Business Loan
Bank of Ireland has launched a new Green Business Loan, designed to provide your business with the finance it needs to fund green projects that will help the environment and improve your bottom line.
It could be improvements to the office itself by installing a solar energy system, fitting high performance windows or installing a renewable heat system. Alternatively you could be launching or extending a green product range. Whatever your green initiative the Green Business Loan can help. There is a dedicated green fund of €100m available.

Allied Irish Banks : Environmental Improvements Loan
AIB Bank have launched an Enviromental Improvement loan for businesses undertaking any project that is deemed to have a positive impact on the environment.
Environmental Improvement Projects undertaken by business customers can include:
- Customers whose business positively impacts on the environment e.g. wind farms, electricity generation, etc.
- Customers buying and/or leasing any non-petrol or non-diesel van(s) or truck(s) e.g. hybrid, flexi-fuel, bio-engine, electric power, etc.
- Customers buying and/or leasing plant, machinery and equipment that reduces CO2 emissions e.g. heat pumps, wind turbines, etc.
- Customers switching to renewable energies or availing of energy management systems for their business.
