NuTech Solar Enhanced Ventilation System

New Solar Enhanced Ventilation System

For Greater Energy Savings and Better Carbon Reductions

This system will TRIPLE the amount of solar energy delivered for double the solar panels installed by feeding all energy from the solar array to both solar hot water and solar space heating / ventilation when required

This new, exciting and highly cost-effective system allows energy from the solar array to not alone heat the hot water cylinder but also to be fed directly to heat the house during the day if required.

By taking heat from the solar array through a water-to-air heat exchange system this energy is fanned directly into the house through a Positive Input Ventilation system. The whole system is controlled by way of NuTech’s Intelligent Renewable Energy System (IRES) controller – the Homeowner’s Display Unit is shown below.

The system relies on the sophisticated IRES controller to act effectively. Without the IRES controller it would not be possible to collect the low levels of solar radiation which we experience in the UK and Ireland in winter and to get the necessary balance between outside air and recirculated air.  In summer the system automatically uses all fresh air which is again controlled by the IRES.

During the night solar energy which was collected by day and stored in the Solar Heat Storage Cylinder is fed back into the air ventilation system to further reduce energy required for home heating. The amount of solar energy stored is a function of the size of the array, the size of the tank and the amount of solar energy received in a particular day.

Now your house can be VENTILATED with warm fresh air by day and by night as and when the solar collectors deliver energy to the system. This Positive Input Ventilation will tend to pressurise the house which helps to reduce air leakage.

This Solar Enhanced Ventilation system in effect trebles the Renewable Energy Contribution by way of the solar array to the house. It also improves comfort levels and freshness in the house.

When there is no solar energy available by way of the collectors or the solar storage tank the system continues to ventilate the house with fresh air. In summer, the system can deliver cool fresh air to the house particularly at night.

The Homeowner’s Display Unit

This unit, which is an essential part of the IRES, gives real time information on how the system is performing at any time.

The display above is showing that the system is in the ‘Solar to Water and Ventilation’ mode. It also give the outside air temperature, temperature of the house, temperatures in the top and bottom of the Hot Water Cylinder and the temperature of the air being delivered to the house.

As mentioned previously without the IRES controller it would not be possible to collect the level of solar energy as this system does. Nor would it be possible to achieve the comfort levels which this system delivers by varying fan speeds to deliver the Positive Input Ventilation air.
