ESB Electric Ireland currently offers a Micro-generation payment scheme of 9 cents per kWh to its residential customers
The scheme is offered to ESB Electric Ireland customers through ESB'S sustainability strategy; the on-going development of smart networks and with the government's sustainability strategy.
The expiry date for the ESB Electric Ireland 9 cent per kWh payment is 31st December 2011.
ESB is also offering a further support payment of 10 cents per kWh for the first 3,000 kWh exported annually. This payment will be made to the first 4,000 micro-generators connected in the 3 years from February 2009 and will be paid over a 5 year period.
Getting connected
STEP 1 Connection to ESB Low Voltage Network

STEP 2 (after you have registered with ESB Networks) Registration with ESB Electric Ireland
Once you fulfil ESB Networks Conditions for Connection for Micro-generators you can now register with ESB Electric Ireland by completing the application form.
