Urban Development Grant (UDG)
If you have a client who is a property developer and is building in priotity urban areas of Northern Ireland- in particular Derry and Belfast, and has a project that will develop vacant, underused or derelict land through physical development, such as inner/middle city housing, commerical, retail and light industrial premises, they may be able to apply for the Urban Development Grant (UDG) which is provided by the Department for Social Development . Support is available for speculative, owner-occupier and new build projects where job creation, inward investment and environmental improvement will result from the project.
Please note that that applications will be assessed and prioritised, and two key elements are Design and Enviroment, i.e projects should be well designed using appropriate materials, and employ energy efficicent technologies.
